DR. EFIRD TO RETURN!!!!!!
Garner United Methodist Church is hosting again a Lenten Bible Study on the book of Revelation with Dr. Mickey Efird. Dr. Efird, theologian, Biblical scholar, author of 13 books, Video Bible Study Series ( http://efirdbiblestudies.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=3&Itemid=30) and master teacher will be with us during the Thursday evenings in Lent beginning February 7 through March 13 from 7:00PM - 8:30PM. Dr. Efird's Bible interpretations combine the wisdom of a master teacher with the warmth and wit of an old friend. Don't miss this opportunity to increase your understanding of God's Holy Word.
He does however have a conflict out of town on February 21 so we will still meet under the leadership of Dr. Chuck Killian, Teaching Pastor here at Garner United Methodist Church. If you wish more info on Dr. Efird's study, please contact Pastor Susan.

BIBLE BUCKS TO PAY
off HUGE dividends, both in this life AND in the next!!! Here is Carlene with more on this exciting, NEW adventure here at Garner church:
We value our kids at GUMC and put a lot of time and effort into developing programs you'll find have value. We feel it is important that the kids have a fun time while they are here, yet grow spiritually and formulate the values you want them to have at the same time. In an effort to help our children grow spiritually, we are incorporating The Bible Bucks Program in our Sunday school, Childrens Church, and Sunday Night Childrens Program. Bible Bucks is an incentive program that encourages the children to earn "Bucks" and then spend them in the Bible Bucks Market on the first Sunday of each month. Bucks are earned and received by the children for things such as bringing their Bible to Sunday School, learning their memory verses, and bringing a friend to church. So please encourage your child to participate in the Bible Bucks Program.
We are also asking for donations such as small prizes and candy for our Bible Bucks Market. If you would like to donate an item(s) for our market, please drop it off with Carlene or by the elevator. Thank you!!!!
CHILDREN'S SUNDAY NIGHT PROGRAMMING
to commence in full force THIS COMING Sunday night!!!!!
Our Children's Sunday Night Program is kicking off this Sunday night, January 20th from 5:30 - 7:30.
Please join us as the children now have the option of choosing from two curriculums: Made for Praise or Made for J.O.Y. We have developed two curriculums so as to meet the spiritual needs of all our children.
Made for Praise is for Little Apostles and Agape Kids who'd like to participate in our Spring musical,"Acorns to Oaks". The children will learn how to grow the fruit of the Spirit in their lives. Made for J.O.Y. is for all age groups and allows the children to choose from several electives, such as story time, choir, hand chimes, drama, missions, and crafts, as they surf through God's word, come to know Jesus, and develop Be-Attitudes: Be Obedient, Be Kind, Be Forgiving, Be Bold, and Believe. There is much, much, more!!! To find out more please stop by the Children's table in the gathering area on Sunday, contact Carlene Lucas, or just come on out Sunday night at 5:30 in the fellowship hall.
