PRAYER PRAISE!!! OF NEW GRANDBABY!!!!!
Andrew Cole Ferraro was born:  February 2, 2008, 9:09 PM.  He weighed in at: 8 lbs 14 oz.  If you stood him up from end to end he would measure a whopping 21 and one half inches tall!!!   Proud mamma and papa are: Kaleigh (Horn) & Shawn Ferraro.  But the proud, bust a shirt grand parents are Mike and Linnette Horn!!!!!!  Congrats!!  Congrats!!  Congrats!!

THIS COMING SATURDAY NIGHT KIDS!!!!!!!
Please bring your kids to join in on the fun this Saturday, February 9th from 6-10 as the children are reminded through scripture about inner beauty and self image.  The boys will meet in the CLC for pizza, games and basketball and the girls will meet in the fellowship hall for a SPA ART PARTY. This is going to be a blast!!!  Invite a friend to come!!!!!!!

KIDS!!! DON'T FORGET!!!
The Bible Bucks Market will be open again this Sunday, February 10th in Room 222 (by the Holy Java) from 9:00-9:30 and from 12:00-12:30.

WELL, 31 JANUARY
has come and gone and I still DON'T have my church pledge statement (giving to the church for tax purposes...).  Please know that these statements WERE sent out well in advance of the 31 January deadline.  However, we have gotten some back this week, from the Post Office, for different reasons.  If you are one of the ones that have not received your statement yet, SIMPLY call the church office (772-2042) and we will get one out to you IMMEDIATELY!!!

FOOD OF THE MONTH:  Jelly, Peanut Butter (not necessarily in the same jar)

13 FEBRUARY, STARTS STAGE 2
water restrictions in Garner.  Folks, this is serious business now......I understand a large event at an area golfing community has been CANCELLED due to they did not want to use the water that it would take to wash all the dishes, consumption by participants, etc.  PLEASE, PLEASE, be VERY mindful of the NO OUT DOOR WATER OF ANY KIND restrictions when dealing with church paid for water.  It would be a crying shame that the church had to pay a $1000.00 fine (first offense) and then the next time they CUT OUR WATER OFF!!!  If outdoor watering is used at the church OR THE PARSONAGE (yes, the parsonage is church paid water.....) we could face having the water cut off.
Now how would we feel if because some act we did caused the church or worse yet, the home of Pastor Bob and Mrs. Linda to be cut off?????????????   Can you hear me now????????????????

WHAT DOES STAGE 2
water restrictions look like??  Can I get my car washed at a recognized car wash??
What happens if I get caught violating Stage 2??  Here's an excellent site that gives you a list of car washes in the area that are NOT covered by Stage 2, what is restricted under stage 2, etc.  Why is this being looked at in a church writing??  We believe it to be that important......http://www.raleighnc.gov/portal/server.pt/gateway/PTARGS_0_2_306_210_0_43/http%3B/pt03/DIG_Web_Content/news/public/News-PubAff-Stage_2_Water_Restrictio-20080205-16412962.html

DON'T FORGET!!!
Take a bulletin to Chick-Fil-A of Garner (both locations) on Mondays from 5-8 PM and get a chicken filet sandwich for FREE!!
See the store for ALL the details and restrictions.  But cut six ways of Sunday, a church bulletin of a chicken sandwich is a good deal!!!!!

TICKET FOR A PLATE,
sign up WORKED at Tuesday night's pancake supper.  After some folk put the leadership of the church under conviction about "being good stewards of God's resources," and stop having so much overages at church meals, the church responded!!  Even for FREE meals, a ticket is required.  In so doing, our FINAL head count for purchasing of food is determined by the number of tickets taken.  Some "second guessing," about "turning people away" from a church event have been heard as well.  But EVERY opportunity will be AFFORDED EVERYONE to get a ticket before a food event.  Also, we will always make some extra for VISITORS AND GUESTS.  But in the future, in our attempts to be the very best stewards of God's resources bestowed upon us, if you don't sign up, get a ticket.............plan on bringing a sack lunch.

FOOD OF THE MONTH:  Jelly, Peanut Butter (not necessarily in the same jar)

A MILLION THANKS TO
the folks that did the cooking last night, Liberty Heath, as always for her GREAT, GREAT help on food events here at the church, all the folks who stayed and did help on tearing, down, cleaning up and putting away!!!  It was a great event and I can say for one that was there on "fat" Tuesday.......some fat was put away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VENUE FOR RELAY TO CHANGE THIS YEAR!!!!!

We just received word that Relay will have a change of venue this year. The 24-hour event scheduled for April 25-26 will be held at Lake Benson Park rather than the high school.  Thanks, Martha

MISSISSIPPI HAS MY HEART A'CALLIN..............
Mississippi is calling!! The damage from Katrina is far from gone! College students and adults!!!!!  I will be heading to D'Iberville, Mississippi for the week of May 12-16 to try to get some more families back into their homes before the heat of summer is upon them.  Every trip to D'Iberville has been a new and exciting experience.  I am encouraging our college youth the join the adults on this adventure and shake off the stress of final exams and enjoy the thrill of helping others before you start those summer jobs.  If you are interested in joining the mission please join us in person or by phone (college students out of the area)  on  February 27, 2008 at 6:30 PM in the Church Library or call into conference number 877-421-0025 Password 117885.  You can contact Jerry or Terri Leeman at 919 851-8516 or email at leemanj@us.ibm.com if you have any questions.   If you are not giving you are not living!

NOT IN THE, SOMETIMES
negative sense that we associate with these "artists" but in the creative and ever evolving sense, Brother Steve Wheltle's ancestry must have been linked to folks that are gifted at the game of "which shell is the pea under??" or maybe Steve's folks were in the development or invention of the "Whack-A-Mole," arcade game, for Brother Steve's got it going on as far as keeping us off balance as to what to expect in musical worship.  This week the Youth Vocal Team is performing, last week it was the handbells, one week it's the Sinfonia and another week it's one of the varied children's choirs.  Soon it will be the children's hand chime choir.  Just when we think the choir is going to be solemn and worshipful with an anthem here they come with a barn burner of "rock this house!!!" WOW!!!  What a switch up!!  What diversity!!  If you come to worship thinking it's going to be the "same old same old....." you in for a SUR-PRIZE!!!!!

HAS GOD DONE ANYTHING FOR YOU THIS WEEK????
What are you planning on giving in response to His bounty??  No, not really referencing "money," or tithe here....I am asking as far as "corporate worship,"  described in Hebrews 10:25..........What'cha gonna bring???????????  Here are some ways that the worship team at your church has been led to help offer you some help on your corporate worship this Sunday:

8:30 AM:  Traditional Worship:  Beautiful solo being offered by Brother Bill McClure with: "Now the Silence."   Scripture lesson for the morning:  Matthew 4:1-11
Offertory:  "Jesu Word of God Incarnate," Mr. Bill McClure, organ.

9:45 AM:  Contemporary Worship: Gathering Song: "Over My Head.  Praise Set: "Every Move I Make," "For This Cause."  Praise Song:  "Holy and Anointed One."  Offertory:
"Waiting For My Real Life to Begin."

11:   AM:  Traditional Worship:  Morning anthem by the Vocal Youth Praise Team:
"The Prize Fight" with "Put On the Armor of God"  Pastor Bob's sermon topic for this week:  "Could We Pass The Test??"   Offertory by the Chancel Choir: "A Communion Meditation."

CHURCH BAY:
MIRACLE NEEDED:
I need a Miracle and I do believe in them.
If you know of a house for rent in Garner in the $750-900 range and is immaculately clean.  My mom has OCD and her thing in clean.  I've seen her mop her kitchen floor at least 100 times.  In one week where she is now.  I desperately need her to be here in Garner with me as I am having to take care of her and my step father.  Oh one more thing, it needs to be in a location that you wouldn't be afraid for your own mother to live.  Please call Cindy Roberts @ 614-0344.

SMALL AMOUNT OF FIREWOOD NEEDED:
Also if you have a few pieces of small split wood and you have more than you would use I need a few pieces for a small outdoor fireplace.  Thank you!!Please call Cindy Roberts at 614-0344.

FREE MATTRESS!!!!
We have a king mattress and box spring set that is only 3.75 years old that we would like to give to someone in the church that needs this or knows of someone in need.  It is in great condition.  Please call Emily Kuykendall at 359-0929.  It is ready for pick-up.
