IF MORELAND WERE HERE,
what would he have us do?? REMEMBER Moreland was helping with the benefit for the 2-3 year old child (Carter Pepper) with a medical condition that is having medical bills galore (
http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/carterpepper.) {Fundraiser TODAY at the McCuller Ruritan clubhouse} Last evening, Susan had spoken with the event coordinator and he was going to contact us by NOON today to let us know (if he contacts us, we will contact you with UP TO THE MINUTE request) what we could do to help with this benefit. Simultaneously I was in contact with the Pepper family asking them the same question. Crystal Pepper has responded that they need help in the morning (at the McCullers Crossroads Ruriatan Clubhouse) and they are in need of people to make desserts.....and oh yea, you guessed it one of the items she listed was BANANA PUDDING (I must admit I had to smile on that one!!!). This was all that Crystal stated they needed at the moment. If you are led, even if you don't eat spaghetti, please consider dropping by and just handing them some money and let them know that you support Carter AND Moreland. Can't go help?? Can't cook a dessert at this late hour?? Can you pray?? As glorious as it sounds to have a great rain event coming in later this morning, rain and fundraisers don't always mix, so let's ensure that Moreland's goal of helping this small child is right on the money....despite the rain.....despite Moreland not being there to help.
IN YET ANOTHER CASE
of Moreland helping somebody else out, Moreland was also doing the youth fundraiser at our church after worship on Sunday. At this late hour, with Moreland being the one to get it all together for Sunday's meal, and in light of the spirit of the church community at Moreland's passing, Patricia has decided to CANCEL this coming Sunday's after church meal. Patricia did not ask me to say this and with it being 1:40 AM, I best not call Patricia and ask her permission on this one, but wouldn't it be great if we as a church community came along side Moreland's effort to help the youth and went on and gave the youth our money that we would have donated for our meal on Sunday, to help them with their summer mission trip?? Just a thought.....you do as you are led. BUT if you do give funds to the church on behalf of the youth....PLEASE mark your checks with YOUTH FUNDRAISER on the check!!! Thank you so much!!
ONE LAST THING..........
Look ya'll I am sorry to bombard you so much on "What would Moreland Do?" but hey he is going to leave some BIG shoes to fill both physically and figuratively. I have not even been contacted by the Relay for Life fundraising team regarding our church's Relay fundraiser later this month, but I feel safe in saying these words: "Heck yea we need some cooks to now step up and be ready to help for the HUGE Relay for Life dinner to come up at our church later this month." Again, I am speaking out of turn, and yet again at this early hour calling Missi Baker and Jeannie Davenport (co-chairpersons of our church's Relay team)to ask their permission would not be advisable, BUT, help and cooks for Relay for Life dinner are NEEDED!!! All hands on deck!!!!
SPRING YOU CLOCKS "FORWARD" ON SATURDAY NIGHT!!!!!!

WHAT'S UP IN JAVA LAND???????
Thanks for the great response to our new and improved Holy Java! (And a special thank you to all of you who helped me save the planet by recycling your java sleeves!!!) This week's flavor will be Southern Toasted Pecan. Not your style? How about a Glacier Blend with a couple of shots of caramel, topped with whipped cream and a Smucker's caramel drizzle? Wait, no scratch that, what about a French Vanilla, half Glacier, half Decaf, with whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle? And remember we always have fancy hot chocolates and herbal teas. While our supplies last, you can also get your hot breakfast at the Holy Java. You can get a pair of sausage biscuits or a flaky apple cinnamon danish, for just $1 each. All of the breakfast money goes to benefit those youth that have put in service hours. Thank You!! Stacie Hagwood

CHURCH CHAT REMINDERS.........
Some good timely tips about Church Chat:
**I make enough blunders on my own, don't need any help. To lessen my mistakes (so that I am not rushed) if you plan on getting something in a TUESDAYS edition of CC, please have it to me by 10 AM ON TUESDAY and by 8 PM on Thursday for Fridays edition.
**Church Chat is "consumer driven." If I get nothing from you folks, then there is no need for me to waste your time and your servers space by sending something out just to be sending something out. If no news comes in for a Tuesday's edition of CC, we will wait till Friday to get one out to you.
**Sure is NICE having ANY/ALL your articles sent to me electronically so I can cut/paste these into the CC text.
**When sending me something please advise me if I am allowed to alter(for clarity, for spelling, NOT for changing content or essences of your article) your article. Trust me, if you want it to go out just like you have sent it to me....it will go out JUST like you sent it to me. DISCLAIMER: Unless otherwise directed, I will make necessary corrections. That way when it goes out it leaves few doubts as to who the boob was that produced such an article.
