WHAT'A DAY!!!!!
We opened the doors at 6:41 AM yesterday and last night around
9:13 PM, we cut the lights out on a place that has not seen that many people in it's halls in a long time!!! Of course, we are talking about the Expo of the Chamber of Commerce held at our church yesterday. The booth rental company crew got up the last of the booths and we were putting the last of the trash in the cans and dust mopping the floors….then lights out……but oh what a day!!! The Chamber people were walking and their feet were not even touching the floor!!!! They were walking on "Cloud 9."
Over 1,200 people were in your church yesterday. Your church sold out of lunch time food and had to turn people away (but hey, we didn't waste any food!!!!). Many and much thanks go to Martha Liles and her crew who worked many hours with the Chamber folks to pull this off!! This event did not "just" happen and because of so many of you volunteering for this event, it was a TRUE success!!!
A BUNCH OF "I DIDN'T KNOW YA'LL HAD……"
Were heard at yesterday's Expo event. When folks were told "We have a Contemporary Service," we heard, "I didn't know ya'll had that!!" When we told them about our orchestra or our Track Out Program and in some cases our Preschool program it was always the same, "I didn't know ya'll had that!!!" On and on with so many of our ministries and programs, folks would look so surprised and say, "I didn't know….." If we are missing letting so many, in our very own community, know all the THINGS we have to offer at Garner church, I wonder how well we are showing in our individual lives, in the way we as a faith community act/display, Jesus Christ to the world??? With all the yesterday's
"I didn't know ya'll had that!!" it just caused me to ask myself "what am I doing to show (not talk) Jesus Christ to a lost and hurting world??" How's your show???
DON'T BE ON THE OUTSIDE
Looking in!!!! The Ticket Table will be set up again this weekend in the gathering area selling tickets for the after church Spring Children' (Made for Praise) musical program, "Acorns to Oats,"

The cost of the PAID lunch ticket is ONLY $5 and it is to simply offset the cost of the meal. Not eating that day….NOT A PROBLEM!!! There is an "admission ticket," which does not include the meal and it is FREE!!!!!!

Yes, it's almost May so it's time for you to read the Connexion for the latest news. It will, as always, be available in print at the church for those without Internet access. Thanks, Martha. http://www.garnerumc.org/messenger/messenger.html
HE STILL PERFORMS
Miracles……We all are familiar with the loaves and fishes story of how Christ fed the multitudes with meager portions…..but does He STILL work miracles like that today…………UPDATE!!! Previously it was reported that the Scouts cleared around $1000.00 for the needy family with mounting medical bills and the father unable to work………After it was all said and done, on this past Monday night, because you and others believed God in faith, the Scouts went and handed this family monies totaling…GET THIS……$3000.00!!!!!!!!!!!!! and this from spaghetti!!!!!!!!! Maybe we should have some Scouts on Stewardship/Finance Committee!!!

GOODNESS!!!!
If Brother Steve ("Music Man Wheltle,") don't have a young'un strumming a violin, he's got another one blowing an oboe or running a trombone slide up and down the scale.
And if the folks from the orchestra ain't gracing us and God with their praise, there are handbells a ringin'. Orchestra not playing, handbells not swinging, then Carol or Bill are doing some piece of music on organ/piano OR BOTH!!! And so on and so on and so on and so on….So what's going to be in worship this week……come and be amazed……or peek below and get a "whetting of your music appetite" by reading the "menu."
