TODAY!! NEEDED!!! BAKE SALE ITEMS!!!!
Yes, today is the day that we are accepting bake sale items for tomorrow's Habitat Bake Sale at Lake Benson Park!!!!! Here's
Terri with ALL the details!!!!
BAKE SALE ITEMS NEEDED:
Habitat in the Park needs baked items for the Bake Sale booth on Saturday, May 17. There is a need for whole cakes, pies, and breads, as well as individually wrapped desserts (cookies, brownies, rice krispie treats, cupcakes, etc.). I do not yet know about our ability to keep items cold, so I am discouraging refrigerated items at this time. Please label your items so we will know what they are, and indicate any special dietary notes (has nuts, made with Splenda, etc). Also, you will need to package your goodies in containers that do not need to be returned to you. You may drop your items off at the CLC kitchen on Friday, May 16 between the hours of 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. You may also drop off items at the park on Saturday morning or contact Terri Leeman at 851-8516 to arrange a pick-up time prior to Saturday morning. Thanks in advance for your support of the Habitat project!
Thanks, Terri Leeman.
WOW!!! IF CHURCH COLLECTIONS
Were growing as fast as HOPE Ministries, the church would be gold plating the toilet seats!!! But I digress………Here's Lee Ellen with more great news on more opportunities for us to serve:
HOPE Providers
As the HOPE Ministry grows, so does the need for food. We need to add the following to our once-every-3-months schedule:
13 side dish providers (dish to serve 20-25 people)
13 SNACK providers (granola bars, pop-tarts, etc)
Still need:
2 more bread providers (3 dozen rolls, muffins, etc)
2 more drink providers (3 2 liter drinks)
2 more bottled water (case)
SNACKS, which is new, is another really easy one! Ideas are granola bars, peanut butter and cheese crackers, apples, other (mostly) non-perishable, individual serving type items to send home. If you don't want to be on the rotation, a one-time donation to the Snack Supply would be great. Mark it for HOPE and place in the Missions collection bins near the elevator.
To sign up for a spot or obtain information, contact Lee Ellen Coffey at HOPEmeals@yahoo.com or call 662-0206. Please consider how you can help. Thanks!
OK……LET ME ASK……..CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?????
So many of you have commented on how nice it is to see the slides back on Sunday mornings again (THANKS Patricia!!). But the question is HOW MUCH do you like seeing the slides on Sunday morning???? If some body don't step up to do the slides, there ain't going to be no more slides….Can you hear me now??? This is NOT an arduous task!!!! Patricia will guide you…..(but not control you). Once you get the hang of it…then you are OFF!!!!
How 'bout ushering??? Like having someone hand you a bulletin on Sunday mornings when you come in?? Like having someone take up the collection plates so you don't have to worry about or think about getting your tithe and offering to the church??? 'Den somebody is going to need to step up!!! Can you hear me now???
For a two man row boat it takes TWO PEOPLE!!!! The size of a row boat is about 14-16 feet long……The size of your church…..22,000 square heated feet, 1200 members, so can you do the math on the volume of volunteers it takes to make this thing "row"??? Can you hear me now??? Are you getting the picture??
Are you questioning if your church needs you right now??? Do you need a SIGN????

LET'S HAVE SOME GRUB!!!!

WHERE AND WHAT TIME???
Now that is the type help that we ALL can be proud of…..those that simply ask, "where and what time???" But this question is in relation to helping with take down and clean up of stuff at the park for Habitat event. Cheryl Grissom states that if she could get a few people to be at the park by 5 PM to help with take down and clean up and then have another group at the church around 5:30 PM to help receive all the items from the park for clean up. If you get to the park and are looking for someone to "direct" you as to what to do, please see Cheryl, Paul Forehand or Mike Meador. THANK YOU for making it possible for a family to get a home!!!!!
DON'T FORGET, WE STILL
Have Men's softball league!!! Here is the remainder of their schedule through the regular season:
5-20-08 1st Baptist 8:30 PM
5-22-08 Hollands UMC 7:30 PM
5-27-08 St. Andrews UMC 8:30 PM

CHURCH BAY:
FREE TO GOOD HOME:
A pair of female guinea pigs. Maggie is about 2 1/2, and Wendy is at least 3 1/2. (Life expectancy is 5-6 years). Both are very docile and handle easily. I have a cage big enough for both, a handbook on caring for them, as well as several months supply of bedding. Cage should be changed every 3-5 days. With an extra bowl of food they can be left by themselves for a weekend. Would make excellent easy-care pets for an elementary school-age child. Stacie Hagwood (662-1568) or

So, if you don't swim, bike AND run, you can do one leg of the tri and your team mates will do the rest!
