SO WE DON'T FORGET……

As we put our burgers on the grill and open our Carolina Packers hot dog packaging for our Memorial Day celebrations, please REMEMBER that there are those that have died AND ARE DYING today so that Carolina Packers Hot Dog packaging is still in English and not German, Russian, Japanese, Arabic, Farsi, or some other foreign language.  It's not all about the grilling and the chilling……it's about remembering as well.   Lest we 'ner forget!!

FOOD OF THE MONTH:  Canned meats (Spam, chicken, etc.)

YOU REMEMBER FOLKS

Are talking about high gas prices???  Higher food costs??  Higher everything???  But when it comes time to step up and help out someone in need, we can ALWAYS come through!!!  Here is Jane Waldow with some thankful praises to you folks:  "It's Time for Praise! The Results are in from the May 9 Barbecue for little Carter Pepper's fight against Franconi Anemia. The event raised $6,500.00 and was held at the Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston office. Thank you for your prayers and support for this event and for the Carter family."   Jane Waldow

COME AND GET'EM!!!

The July/August editions of the daily devotional guide, "The Upper Room" is now in the house!!!  They are in the rack right outside of the Music Director's office.  Come get one NOW, while there are still some.  ESPECIALLY if you need larger print editions of this publication, as there are even fewer of these available.

FOOD OF THE MONTH:  Canned meat (deviled ham, dried beef)

SHOES!!  SHOES!! AND MORE SHOES!!!!

In the next several weeks the James Auman Sunday School class is in need of a large number of used children's shoes that will be sent to Haiti.  Helen Little from Clayton has been 41 times to work with the people of Haiti.  Her thrust has been the children.  She distributes food, clothing and especially shoes to the children.  If you have children, grandchildren or great grandchildren that have shoes they aren't using, won't you consider bringing them to church?  Please put them in the containers near the elevator.  Thank you in advance.  Martha Wiseman  662-5117, if you have any questions

PS:  Helen will be at our church on June 8th in the fellowship hall during ,, the Sunday School hour.  Please join us to learn more about Helen's work.  Thanks, Martha Wiseman.

SIGN UP!!! SIGN UP!!!  SIGN UP!!!

Please pre-register by June 1st.  Registration forms for VBS (children ages 3 to 5th grade), the Jr. High Bible Study, or the Adult Bible Study are in the Gathering Area or can be downloaded from the church website.  We need good numbers for ordering supplies and for meals.  We also need adult volunteers for help with the weekend's activities.  Please contact us if you can be a Crew leader, Craft helper, Bible story teller, or even a puppeteer.

PROVIDERS OF HOPE……….

As the HOPE Ministry grows, so does the need for food.  We need to add the following to our once-every-3-months schedule:

12 side dish providers (dish to serve 20-25 people)

10 SNACK providers  (granola bars, pop-tarts, etc)

Just a few of the super easy ones left:

2 more bread providers (3 dozen rolls, muffins, etc)

1 more drink provider (3 2 liter drinks)

1 more bottled water (case)

SNACKS, which is new, is another really easy one!  Ideas are granola bars, peanut butter and cheese crackers, apples, other (mostly) non-perishable, individual serving type items to send home.  If you don't want to be on the rotation, a one-time donation to the Snack Supply would be great.  Mark it for HOPE and place in the Missions collection bins near the elevator.

To sign up for a spot or obtain information, contact Lee Ellen Coffey at HOPEmeals@yahoo.com or call 662-0206.  Please consider how you can help.

Thanks so much to all those who have responded already!

Lee Ellen.
