FOOD OF THE MONTH: Peanut Butter and Jelly
SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES, MEN'S GROUPS,
Women's groups, individuals, the HOPE Ministry team wishes to provide you an opportunity to serve: "We are seeking individuals or groups that are willing to commit $25.00 monthly to HOPE Ministries. HOPE is our homeless ministry. We pick up homeless ladies and gentlemen at pre-determined locations each and every Saturday. We bring them to our church and provide them with fellowship, a good meal, and a hot shower.
We have many volunteers that support the ministry with their time and food contributions. Money is needed to compliment donated food, provide toiletry items(soap, toilet paper, tooth brushes, deodorant, etc). We try to meet larger needs, such as clothing, through donations, but may need to purchase items from time to time. We do our best to be good stewards with all that we are provided.
We also try to feed them spiritually, by not only being the hands and feet of Christ, but by speaking about our Lord and Savior.
This is more targeted toward our membership at GUMC, but I wanted to give others an opportunity to participate in aiding the homeless in our community. We have 5 commitments so far and we are looking for at least 20. Please take this into prayer to see if God leads you to be a part of this ministry.

CHURCH BAY:
I have a woman who needs to move into Olde School Commons Apartments for seniors pretty soon, but she has a dog she needs to find a home for first. Heidi is a 5 year old Collie and Corgi mix. I have seen her picture and she is absolutely beautiful! She is about 38 pounds, and has been spayed and micro-chipped. She is housebroken, and although she lives with a single woman, she responds very well to guests and children. It is unknown how she would do with other pets. She loves to take walks, doesn't sit on the couch unless she is called to, and sleeps under the bed. Her owner is adamant that she go to a good home and knows that if she turns Heidi over to the SPCA, that she'll likely be euthanized, which would be unbearable. If you are interested in this dog, call or email me and I'll put you in contact with Heidi's owner. Stacie Hagwood 662-1568 or slh@pobox.com
