PRAYERS OF THANKS......
I take a moment of personal privilege and remind all of us that on this upcoming holiday weekend, that we pause a moment and say "thanks" to God for allowing a country like the United States of America be formed and continue to flourish. In today's times, voices outside and regrettably inside our own country, speak ill of our country. And whereas I think we can all see some areas where we as a country are not perfect, we are still the greatest nation upon the face of the earth. Our founding principles have it's precepts and basis upon or in Scripture. Not perfect?? Sure. Could do better in some areas??? Couldn't we all....But give thanks this weekend for one of the greatest countries this world has ever known!! Lest we 'ner forget................

THE "ZOO," IS GOING TO THE ZOO!!!!!!Here's Carlene with all the details: Children in grades K-5 are invited to join us for a day at the Zoo on July 12th from 10:00 – 3:00. We will leave the church that morning at 8:00 and arrive back at 5:00. Children should bring a bagged lunch. Snacks will be provided. The cost per child is $6.00. The cost for adults is $10.00. If your child would like to go or you are interested in being a chaperone please contact Carlene Lucas as soon as possible at the church office or carlene.lucas@garnerumc.org
BUGS, BRANCHES, ROCKS, BIRDS, PLANTS,And so much more!!! Again, here's Carlene: Children ages 3-10 are invited to join us for our nature camp at Lake Benson this summer. This camp is a great opportunity for children to explore and enjoy the beauty of God's wonderful creation. As bug and plant detectives they will go on nature walks with their detective kits to capture animal tracks, make plant and animal observations, and identify plants, birds, and rocks. The children will also go to Yates Mill for a Nature Hike and fishing. Please visit the Children's Ministry Board or www.garnerumc.org for further information and a registration form. Disciple I "Becoming Disciples through Bible Study" is a prerequisite for all the other Disciple studies!

NO YOUTH BIBLE STUDY TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!!!!!!! STILL CAN'T STOP Talking about the Youth Mission trip to the Refuge of a few weeks back!!!! Some of the workers from our mission team left a piece of their heart in Greene County. There were some tasks that were not finished by our crew and there were plans laid before them that they were not even able to make an attempt upon. For that reason there are plans to do some "day" trips or maybe some overnighters down to the camp to finish old projects and start on some new ones. It may be you that they are waiting for to say, "Hey that makes our magic number, we are ready to go now." Let Patricia know if you would be willing to go and do some more work on this ground laying camp project. Hey, I mean there is 160 acres……there's PLENTY more to be done!!!!
WELL IT WAS WII ON29 June and now let's get ready to get Wet'n Wild!!!! The youth are planning a trip to Wet'n Wild water park (http://www.emeraldpointe.com/) in Greensboro on 09 July.
If you are planning on going you need to either sign up and let Patricia know. The cost is $23.00 per person, plus money for lunch in the park and supper on the ride home!!! It's going to be a BLAST!!!! If you are in school on the 9th and are unable to make this trip, have no fear, as they are making a special trip just for those folks that were in school. This trip will be on 26 July (on a Saturday). Let Patricia know if you plan to go and WHICH day you will be going.
IT'S FOR REAL!!Hey, College aged young people!!! Have you heard?? If you are seeking a REAL, with some depth, not a "kiddie" play time Bible Study, then the College age youth have got it going on!!!! Sara Nickalson is the facilitator for this study and Sara has taken this study and she is RUNNING!!! She prayed about this, chose a book to study, did some contacting and then she did what many adult need to learn to do……she let God!!! And WOW!!! What God has done!!!! This group is meeting over at Patricia's on THIS Sunday night at 6:30 PM for fun and a cook out, so if you are college age and have been looking for something "real" this summer, then check out this group!!The book that they are doing is by author David Nasser and the title of the book is "Glory Revealed." Due to the holiday and there won't be but about four of you in town to read it any how, there will be NO Church Chat on Friday. Just know that we will still have church on Sunday, even though the order of worship won't be posted.
