If you are interested in taking a Disciple class, after reading the below, you may sign up in the gathering area at the Disciple Bible Study table. Here's Edna with some info: Do you wish that you knew more about the Bible? Are you not too clear about the chronology and events revealed in God's Word? Do you wonder why Christians do certain things or don't do other things? We have the answer for you! DISCIPLE is a program of disciplined Bible study aimed at developing strong Christian leaders. It focuses on the disciple as learner, believer, follower, proclaimer, and servant while providing the fellowship of a small group for study, prayer, preparation, support, and servanthood. DISCIPLE assumes that the Bible is key to renewal in the church and affirms that the canon was formed as it is in order for God to speak to us. The study gives the Old and New Testaments equal time, emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as a revelation of God and draws upon the work of scholars to aid understanding of the Bible. Disciple I "Becoming Disciples through Bible Study" is a prerequisite for all the other Disciple studies! Sign-up sheets will be available, in the Gathering Area, all through the month of July. EAT'EM UP THIS SUNDAY NIGHT
At 5:30 PM in the gym!!!! It's the Refuge (Youth summer mission project) Appreciation dinner!!! ALL are invited, cause we know that ALL have either been in prayer, have bought car wash tickets, or offered words of encouragement, or bought stock, etc. ALL are invited to come out and eat and see some pictures of things done on the work team, actually get to meet some of the team members and of course we want to really welcome "Camp Dawg," Sammy Hudson!!! It's always good to have Sammy in the house!!!!!!
WHILE WE GOT "THE REFUGE" ON THE BRAIN:
The Refuge Work Day Saturday July 19th.
Open to any adults who would like to join the youth for a work day at The Refuge. We will leave EARLY on Saturday, drive down and spend the day working. Pack a bag lunch and there will be plenty of water and sports drink at the camp. Plans are to work until about 6 PM and head home, with a possible quick stop for supper. Possible work projects for the day will include opportunities to do some landscaping, more demolition on the farm house, continued work on the footbridge, another trail to be cleared, mulch to be spread and a work bench and storage shelves to be build in the maintenance building. Sign up on the Youth Bulletin Board and at The Refuge Appreciation Dinner this Sunday @ 5:30.

WHAT WAS IT AGAIN
That was going on up at the church this weekend that I needed to be reminded of:
****8:45 AM Saturday morning, meet at the church to drive over to the Stanton's to finish the wheel chair ramp for "Pop," and there is some yard work that needs completing. Chris Allen is the point/contact person on this if you need some prelim info. Other than that it's Saturday morning at 8:45 AM in the church's parking lot.

****11 AM – 1 PM Little "Peanut's" Birthday party in the Fellowship Hall (TOMORROW!!!) Come stay the entire time or just pass through.

**** "Is You Dumb?" No, I think it's "Do You Know The Bible Like A GUMC Kid?" This will take place on 27 July from 12 noon till 1:30 PM. This is a take off on "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader." This is great fun and it is hilarious to watch, see AND hear!!! This one is worth burning some gas to come see!!!

I DON'T WANT SARA

HOPE MINISTRIES
Is this Saturday!!! They need volunteers, but hey, I wouldn't want to come to work unless I knew more about this. So, if you have been wondering if that's God's voice calling you to this ministry or three day old collards, come out this Saturday and just "observe." The HOPE ministry team will not "make" you jump in….just tell'em you are there to "observe." I bet if you come, you will be taken in by this great ministry so much that you will WANT to jump in and help. Come……….

WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY:
Well, let me tell you some variables that I "DO" know……There will be three services on Sunday (1) 8:30, (2) 9:45, (3) 11 AM. I know who the greeters are scheduled to be. I know that it will be uplifting, glorifying and in some cases, a "Depends," moment at the point of elation. Pretty sure there will be some Scripture read, a few songs sang and shut your mouth, there might even be some clapping!!! But beyond that I am about as stumped as you about what exactly to expect….But ain't that just like God……Not following the "plan," like we think He should, but still it working out for the best!! Come and be surprised…..and amazed at what God has in store!!!!!
