THIS COMING SATURDAY NIGHT
At 7 PM will be the opening night of an ONLY two shows of the youth group's adaptation of "You Are A Good Man Charlie Brown." But if a person thought that this is going to be some poorly executed, poorly performed rendition of this classic….think again! I have said it many times, Garner church has great talent!!! Some familiar faces will be up on stage and some new faces as well. As mentioned, there will be one show at 7 PM on Saturday night and then another show on Sunday afternoon at 3 PM. Come out and support the Youth Drama Team and be entertained to max!!
BRAVE SOUL CARLENE
Lucas and her troop of counselors headed out this morning at 10 AM on the "preschool," version of God's Nature Summer Camp. Being with a group of preschoolers in a wide open space, I am sure that Carlene is learning what the term, "herding cats," is all about. There are still plenty of other dates coming up in the God's Nature Camp adventure, so if you have not gotten in on this one and would like more info, here's the place you will want to be:

UNTIL 24 AUGUST…….
The Missions Team is collecting School Supplies for Hope Elementary School. There are colorful collection bins for these school supplies near the elevators in the Missions Collection area. Let's overwhelm this school with school supplies!!!!
ALL THESE FUN
And exciting things going on, in, around and through the children's ministry do not "just happen." It takes volunteers, volunteers and more volunteers. If you would be willing to help in some way, doing something, follow along now as Carlene breaks this down for you: Children's Ministry Team. We need volunteers to join our Children's Ministry team so we are able to offer more programs and activities for the children during the summer and throughout the year. Please get with me if you are interested and I will show you what opportunities lie within the Children's Ministry Area. Thanks, Carlene.
NOT TOMORROW , BUT......NEXT WEDNESDAY
all choir members or those that would like to become choir members, there will be a rehersal at 7:30 PM. Please make a note of this and try to be there as the ranks are shortened during the summer time and any and all voices are greatly appreciated!!!!

The James Auman SS class is still collecting shoes for the children of Haiti. Need'cha shoes!!!!!
Disciple II this fall??? If so, please read this announcement from Edna: As of Sunday, we do not have enough participants signed up for a Disciple II class to warrant scheduling one. If you've been wavering and wondering whether or not to sign up for D-II, you still have time! Surely there are more than two people out there who are interested! Please don't delay any longer. Sign up this Sunday! Classes will be starting the 1st week of September and we must have sufficient time to order materials. You won't be sorry if you go ahead and sign up! SIGN UP NOW! Thanks, Edna.

"WHAT DID HE SAY????"
We apologize to the 8:30 and 11 AM worshippers as we are suffering some "demons" in the sound system in the sanctuary. We had sound system repair folks out last week and we thought, "we got this thing now." Came in on Sunday morning……same old thing. We are almost sure that this is something very minor, but we just can't diagnosis, thus, can't fix the problem. We are trying our darnedest to get this thing corrected so everyone has the opportunity to hear!! We thank you for your patiences.
WHAT TREE???????
When the recent "To Do List," for work projects around the church came out the church's Scout troop decided to help out……but they took on one of the hardest and largest projects on the entire list and that was to take down the large tree out by the JOG entrance glass doors out front. This tree had initially shown "budding out," this Spring, then gave up the ghost and finely died. The Scouts came this Saturday past and they took the ENTIRE thing down and away!!! I mean, if some dirt is put over the stump (it is cut even with the ground) and some mulch is put there, even members won't even remember there was a tree there!!! I can't even find saw dust!!!!!!!!!!! Gone and I mean GONE!!! Great job!!! Great job!!! Great job!!!
OTHER THINGS ON THE
"TO DO LIST," are slowly being chiseled away at….Kermit Heintzelman, Ed Woolson and Fritz Sterling have taken and completed several items on the list……The church thanks everyone for their efforts on these projects. If you would like to get involved, the "To Do List," is posted on the Copier Room door.
As an item is done, the group/individual doing the item is marking through it so we know that this job is now complete. Again, the church thanks you all for helping!!!

BRENT COFFEY, even though young in years has already developed a heart for others in need and for missions. Will you please read the following and help and/or respond to this young brother as he attempts to help others: On Sunday morning August 3rd in the Gathering Area, I will be selling pins for AIDS research. The pins will cost 50 cents with all the proceeds going to Product (Red), a nonprofit AIDS research organization. I am doing this for a school project, and hope you will stop by. Donations are welcome. Thanks, Brent Coffey
