YOUTHS!! YOUTHS!! YOUTHS!!!
Things you need to remember for this weekend:
****THIS MORNING: Bus pulls out for TuckerLake (http://www.tuckerslake.com/) at 9 AM and will return at 7 PM. If you haven't gotten with Patricia I don't guess it's too late. Try your luck.
****TONIGHT!! JUNIOR HIGH LOCK IN!!! Midnight Wal-Mart shopping trip, dark thirty bowling, pizza, party, starts at 10 PM TONIGHT!!! Till 10 AM on Saturday!!!!
ANOTHER HAPPENING WILL TAKE
place on Saturday morning here in the church and that is P.K. Banks home going service will be celebrated!!! Brother P.K. passed away last month and now we get to celebrate his life!!! The family will be here at the church around 10 AM to meet and greet you folks and then we will go into the sanctuary for P.K.'s celebration starting at around 11 AM. Leave your crying rags at the door and trad'em for some shouting shoes!!!!!! P.K. would have liked it like that!!!!! There will be a bereaved family meal immediately following the celebration (planning to serve 50 members of this family), in the CLC. So if you see Martha's number come up on your caller ID, either don't answer or be prepared to fix a green bean casserole.

SO INSPIRED BY…..
the refurbishing, staining of furniture, rebuilding of choir members slot's, etc. in the choir room……the housekeeping department at the church did a full clean up in the choir room this week….and yes, that IS news!!!! Brother Steve, Kermit, Fritz and Ed got busy on doing choir refurbishment this week and it really looks GREAT in the choir room!!! Stop by sometime and "see" AND "smell" all the changes that have taken place in this area!!!!
AND WOW!!!!
this week, not only has the choir room been neared completion of it's refurbishment, but, an extensive governmental required inspection of three key components of the fire suppression system has been completed, "ALL" (nearly 9000 sq. feet alone, downstairs) carpets on the 1st floor (including all classrooms, Fellowship Hall and hallways) have been cleaned and sanitized to meet governmental child care requirements. All carpets in the hallways, gathering areas upstairs, Holy Java were also cleaned. New lights were installed in The Bible Class, The Bible Class was painted and old blinds removed and discarded and new blinds installed. The down spouts across the back of the church were all cleaned/cleared of clogs so that they now run free as an Ex-Lax tasting competition!!! And evidence that your Board of Trustee's does listen to your complaining, some changes are also being implemented to the Memorial Tree as well!!!! And last but not least, a governmental required moving of a gas line in the CLC kitchen was also completed. Have mercy it has been a BUSY week to the physical plant side of your church this week!!!!!
anything out front of the church that I want to get away with!!!! On yesterday the carpet cleaning team was here at the church and at one point they had to park their vehicles out in front of the church. Several members of Garner church rode by, saw their vehicles and called me to ask if I would recommend these carpet cleaning people. Since the carpet cleaning people we used this week are not Garner church members, since they work to make a profit, I can't answer that question in this portion of Church Chat. See Church Bay if you seek or in the future will seek carpet cleaning services.
THE GARNER MINISTERIAL
Association met today and after they met….well, let me slide out of the way and let Pastor Susan tell you in her own words: "After the Ministers meeting today more churches are on board with Operation Restoration...Wake Baptist Grove and Ernest Myatt Presbyterian. Other Churches are First Presbyterian, Garner Advent Christian, Poplar Springs, St. Andrews, Holland's UMC, and Garner UMC!!!! We can still use more people to help in construction, especially on Thursday and Friday - projects are roof, flooring, repairing a deck, and other handy person jobs...we also need people willing to cook a pig or provide a pig cooker...and we need donations!!!! People can make a check out to the church and mark it for Operation Restoration." Thanks, Susan.

BABY SWING: Baby Swing in excellent condition. Used only for a short period of time with my grandson who has outgrown it. Would like to give this to someone in the church with a newborn or expecting a baby soon. Please call: Brenda Dickson @ 919-773-4696.
WEDDING DRESS FOR SALE:
I have a wedding dress that I would like to sell for $100. It originally sold for $1000.00, so it is a good deal if you happen to be looking for one. It is a size 16 and probably needs Dry Cleaning as it has been hanging in my closet for a while. Please email me at godsdream4u@yourdreamquest.org or call at 614-0344. Cindy Roberts
I am not advocating one carpet cleaner over the other. If we have a carpet cleaner in our church, I am not trying to take away from their business. If there is a carpet cleaner in Garner church I am sure that they do a great job...(ok, was that "Methodist/Politically Correct" for everyone????). But we did have the carpets at the church cleaned this week and yes they did an EXCELLENT job. They were very competitive in pricing. Came when they said they were going to come. The ENTIRE team were very cordial and respectful of church property. They did above and beyond what was required of them. The owner of the business (and he not only owns the business, but he actually comes on site and works WITH his team!!!) is Rev. Tracy Bell of Poplar Springs Christian Church up on Old Stage Road. Yes, I would HIGHLY recommend Tracy and his team. If you need carpet cleaning services, give Tracy a call at 919-961-4520.
