METHODIST MEN!!!
This Sunday morning!!!!!  This Sunday morning!!!!!  We will have our monthly meeting on Sunday, September 7, at 07:15, in the Fellowship Hall. Join us for fellowship and breakfast. Our speaker will be Steve Lawrence, a dynamic force in AA. He is a recovering alcoholic, and has been sober for 13 years. His message should be an inspiration.  Looking forward to seeing you Sunday!!  Thanks, Bob Creed.

EVEN WHEN IT AIN'T RAINING............
Way back when Moby Dick was a tadpole some of the "planners" of the new addition to Garner church wanted to have a place that the American Red Cross could come into the church's "Open doors, open heart's" facility and minister to those persons that have been stricken by a disaster, be it man made or natural.......And "most" everyone was slobbering all over this idea............that was before it started raining..........that was before "our" event got shoved to a smaller area or oh my heavens above that was before an evacuee was seen sitting on the front steps crying before Sunday worship.....that was before that old stinking, ugly Red Cross trailer was parked out front of that beautiful brick and glass frontage of the church.  Those persons that were slobbering and foaming at the mouth "back in the day," before it started raining to be a disaster shelter for hurting people, I hope that the "tar on your heels" has not come unfastened and now you are ready to turn coat and run.  ALWAYS remember this.........God forbid, but ANY of us could only be a disaster away from needing an American Red Cross disaster shelter.  Be ye reminded...

PRECIOUS PROPHETS!!  AGAPE KIDS!!!  LITTLE APOSTLES!!!
Attention!  All parents of Precious Prophets, Little Apostles, and Agape Kids:  The fall season is starting up and we wanted to let you all know that the Precious Prophets will be meeting every other week.  However there will be a choir-related activity every week for those Kindergartners and Precious Prophets who would like to participate and are not in the choir practice with Mr. Steve. They will be with Mrs. Carol and Mrs. Jeannie. That time will be from 6:00 to 6:30 pm.  Also just a reminder that dinner WILL NOT be served, but there will be a healthy snack for all of the kids.  If you have any questions please contact Carlene Lucas or Carol Whetle for more info.  Thanks, Jeannie Ledford.

ATTENTION ALL DISCIPLE BIBLE STUDY PARTICIPANTS:
It is that time to kick off our time of Transformation.  Classes will be meeting as follows:

Disciple 1 will meet Tuesday, September 9, in the Nannie Bryan Classroom (Room 214) at 7:00 pm.  Gayle Hines (919-772-2383) will be facilitating. We still need at least two more participants to hold the class so if you have not signed up, please do so on the sign up sheet in the church gathering area or contact the church office.   We are looking forward to an exciting year of study, fellowship, information, and transformation so don't miss out on this class.

Disciple 3 will meet Sunday, September 7, in the Fellowship Classroom (Room 211) at 5:00 pm (time change from earlier posting).  Amy Gregory will be facilitating.  Again, if you have not signed up and are interested in taking Disciple 3, please let Amy or the church office know so we have enough study materials.  (Amy's email is amys4jc@yahoo.com  or call 773-0658).

LADIES...DON'T FORGET!!!!
The Helen Sanders Bible Study group will return for the Fall Study on Tuesday morning, September 9, at 10:00 in the Fellowship Sunday School Room.  The book we will be using is entitled "Women at the time of the Bible" by Miriam Feinberg Vamosh.  You do not necessarily need to purchase the book.  I have several copies that we will be sharing this year.  Please be sure to bring your Bible and be prepared to enjoy our time studying various and interesting women in Bible times.  You know that we have a beautiful "new" song to learn and we always have a wonderful time of study, prayer and fellowship.  See you Tuesday morning at 10:00!  Thanks, Betty Jo
