SSSS...
No, we aren't pretending to be snakes. SSSS stands for September Super Snack Sundays! On Sept 21 and Sept 28, bring in nonperishable, individually wrapped SNACKS for HOPE Ministries, such as granola bars, pop tarts, peanut butter crackers, cookies, etc. We'll create a Super Stash of Snacks to use on Saturdays in the coming months. Thanks so much, Lee Ellen.

HELP ME CORRECT A FLUBBER......
I flubbed for Lee Ellen and now I call on you to help me correct this. Lee Ellen had a GREAT article for Friday's edition of Church Chat about the Super Snack Collection of items for HOPE ministries and when I tried to access my church account from home, the article for Lee Ellen did not come about. THEREFORE.... Please don't let HOPE ministries suffer due to my flub. Here's Lee Ellen with the details: On Sept 21 and Sept 28, we're collecting nonperishable SNACKS for our HOPE Ministry. Bring in a box of individually wrapped snacks, such as granola bars, pop tarts, peanut butter crackers, cookies, etc. We'll create a Super Stash of Snacks to use on Saturdays in the coming months. Bring your donations to the Missions Collection Area near the elevator. Questions -- please contact Lee Ellen Coffey at HOPEMeals@yahoo.com
DON'T HAVE A KITTY KAT......
If you are up "smelling" around the church this week and you see that the downstairs stove is "torn all to pieces" please don't have a "kitty kat." Yet again, in an effort to save you more and more money, your church's Board of Trustee's has approved the "retro" fitting of the downstairs stove/oven from propane gas to natural gas. So for that reason, until this retro fit is complete the stove downstairs may or may not be in service. WITH ALL DILIGENCE, EVERY EFFORT is being made get this stove/oven up and running before the weekend, BUT EVEN THEN, if it is not, stove/oven capabilities will STILL be worked out..........Don't have a Kitty Kat.........It's all good.............

WORKERS NEEDED FOR "THE REFUGE!!!"
Next Work Day for the Refuge Oct 11th.
Thanks to all who helped this weekend at The Refuge. A floor was put down in the front room of the Farm House and the turn was made on the footbridge. It was an extremely hot and humid day, but the teams still put in a full day of work. Our next work day is Saturday Oct 11th. Sign up sheet is on the youth bulletin board. We will be continuing work on the Farm House and hopefully completing the foot bridge. It would be great to take 20-30 people back with us this time to finish up the footbridge, work on the farm house and I am sure Sammy has many new projects ready to start.
Begin now to pray for a nice cool day on the 11th!
WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY!!!
Youth Parents - Please help our Youth Ministry by signing up to provide a snack supper for the youth. The supper should include a main dish, drink & dessert. We will reimburse you for your expenses for this meal so it won't cost you anything except your time. The youth will be asked to donate $3 to help defer the cost of these meals. Supper begins at 6:00 PM and ends at 6:30 so you would have to be available for preparing before 6 and clean up after 6:30. You also get to choose the menu. Sign up with another parent and share the fun is also another idea. Dates for the meals are Sept 28, Oct 19, Nov. 9 and Nov. 23. Sign up sheet is on the youth bulletin board or just email patricia@garnerumc.org and let her know what date you want.
Several parents may sign up together also.
