SUNDAY IS THE LAST DAY
For sign up for the golf outing on 18 October at Reedy Creek!!!!
Sign up sheets are on the bulletin boards outside the church library (ENSURE that you are signing up for the right golf outing, as there are TWO sign up sheets for TWO separate golf trips on this one board) and on the bulletin board outside the office.
REMEMBER "IMMEDIATELY" FOLLOWING
the JOG service AND the 11 AM service THIS coming Sunday, there will be an usher/greeter program briefing/training. If you have wanted to serve on either of these most important aspects of the life of the church, then this is a GREAT time to do so!!!!
PARENTS OF YOUNG'UNS!!!!!
REMEMBER!!!! This Sunday in 11 AM worship, the children will be singing!!! Song sheets were sent home with the children this past week, so PLEASE help them with this music/words. Sometime around 10 AM on Sunday someone from the Music Department will come to your child's Sunday School classroom and escort your child to the sanctuary to practice for their praising music. Any questions?????

YOU STARTED STRONG....
now let's finish strong!!!! Sunday is the final day of the Super September Snack Sundays in which HOPE ministries (Garner church's outreach to homeless persons in the Garner area) is asking for indivdually wrapped snacks (square nabs, peanuts, granola bars, etc.) be brought and placed in the bin (specially marked) out by the elevators.
You have done so well for the past few weeks and so, let's keep it up and go out STRONG!!! Just a note: since the weather has started changing a bit, the numbers from this ministry have increased. HOPE needs our help!!!!!!!!!
BEHIND THE SCENES KUDOS.........
So, so, so, so many church related web sites still have what they did last Christmas or at best last Easter STILL up on their web sites. Even some secular/business web sites have out dated event announcements and other outdated information on them. I saw one web site that was still listing John Wesley as their senior pastor!!! Well, no it was not that bad.....but if you ever want to see a contrast in a web site that is not linking it's reader to outdated info, then simply go to your church's web site. Martha is very good about keeping information pumped to our own Donna Petherbridge (church's web master), but Donna is "johnny on the spot," about posting new information and getting rid of old, outdated mess!!! Your church's web site is one of the most pertinent and up to date church web sites the entire East coast throughout.........we know......Martha and I look at hundreds of websites of churches up and down the East coast (and heavily at church websites in/around Wake County) and there is NO comparison!! So next time you click on your church's web site and find it pertinent, up to date, dead on.......Thank behind the scenes Martha and especially Donna!!!!! Here, have a look:

PRAYER PARTNER IN SCHOOL?????????????????????????????
Aversboro Elementary School has invited Garner UMC to partner with them through a program called "Hand in Hand". There will be several opportunities for us to share God's blessings with the students and teachers at the school. At this point we are looking for volunteers for 2 roles:1) Be a prayer partner for a staff member and send words of support and encouragement. 2) Serve as a mentor or as a SCOR reading volunteer with a student for 30-60 minutes each week. Please contact the church office and let Carlene or Martha know if you are interested in this outreach.

JUST AS MOST CAR
enthusiast males like to drive a straight drive 1967 Chevy Chevelle, many an accomplished singer/choral type person enjoy taking Handel's "Messiah" for "a spin," as well. So if you know of such a choral/singer type person (even if they do not belong to this fellowship) please let them know of Garner church's Music Department offering Handel's "Messiah," on the EVENING of 21 December. With as powerful, and as widely known a composition as "Messiah," is, Steve does not want to deny ANYONE the opportunity to come and be a participating part of this great event in the life of Garner church. Do you already have someone in mind?? At your work?? In your neighborhood?? In one of your choral groups?? Then let's extend them the opportunity to be a part of something spectacular!!!! Advise them that practices for this event will begin on 01 October and that space is available for them!!!!
ALWAYS INTERESTING......
Now you can say several things about worship at Garner church, but one thing a person CANNOT say is that Brother Steve ain't switching it up in worship. One week you might have someone playing a "git-tar" and singing and the next week a stringed ensemble or one week an oboe and then another week a group of "horns." To keep ya'll even more intrigued, from the writing below, see if you can ascertain what "instrument" Steve will be presenting as an offering to God this week!!! **Special note** Several different things in musical worship this week......."see" if you some "special people," doing something different in musical worship this week!!!!!!!!
WORSHIP PLANS:
8:30 AM Traditional Worship: Prelude: "Come Christians Join To Sing," The Garner Ringers. Anthem: "The Word of God," Elizabeth Allen and Elizabeth West, Caroline Allen, flute.
