OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD!!!
THIS Sunday!!!! Bring back your filled Christmas Child shoe boxes!!!! Bring'em back!!!
This Sunday!!!!! Can you hear me now?!?!?!!!!!????
Y'ALL DID IT!!! Y'ALL DID IT!!!!!
On Wednesday morning I came in and counted 30 cell phones!!!! That is the magic number to ship them off!!! I packaged them up and called for a FedEx pick up and by the time you read this, the phones, YOUR donated phones; should be on their way to aid military personnel overseas to be able to call home for FREE!!!!!! If you would like to see the program that you are supporting, I am including the link here:
IF you go to this site, look at what this, then 13 year old girl (and her YOUNGER brother) did to start this program. Then think about all the lame excuses you give for not "getting out of the boat" as well (too old, too young, don't have any money, have too many other things going on, etc.)
OH AND WAIT!!!
Before we go to the other extreme of "I'm too old now," or "I'm retired now," or some other lily livered excuse about why you can't do things...........77 year old Helen Little stopped by the church yesterday with over 10 boxes of winter clothes (to include over 100 pairs of BRAND NEW socks). NOW before you go and say something like, "...well, a car load of winter clothes, even for a 77 year old woman ain't all that....." Helen was on her way back from the MERCI center in Goldsboro after helping to load TWO OVERSEAS CARGO SHIPPERS for her Haitian Mission Project. She knew that in the tropics, these winter clothes would not be needed and heard of the church's HOPE ministry and wanted to donate these clothes to it!!!! If you want to sit upon your pity pot and advise someone about all the ailments and reasons you CAN'T do things.......don't let Helen Little hear you, cause you may find yourself getting an ear full....................
LIFE SUPPORT NO MORE!!!!!!!!!!
I did not want to be a doomsdayer in Tuesday's Church Chat but one of the most lucrative AND consistent givers to this church has been the drink machine. And due to the lack of product for this machine, the "pay out," for this machine was "on life support." NOT ANY LONGER!!!! Some of you have responded in such a significant way that we have gone from "on life support," to up walking the halls at the hospital!!!!! DON'T STOP NOW!!!! The infusion that was given the drink machine over the past few days will only last a WHILE!!!
Just to remind you, here are the varieties that we need:
**Diet Mt. Dew
**Mt. Dew
**Coke (PLAIN Coke)
**Dr. Pepper

ALMOST GONE!!!
Bob Creed reports that all but 29 tickets have sold for the Methodist Men's Ladies night celebration!!! If you wish to purchase a ticket, please get with Bob Creed OR there will be a table set up before each service in the gathering area THIS Sunday. Still need some helpers to set up/take down, prepare salads, and several other jobs. If you would be willing to help on maybe just TWO of these tasks, there is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board for the Methodist Men. This bulletin board is located in the hallway near the Fellowship Classroom. Thanks, Bob Creed.
CHILLY WEATHER AND IT BEING DARK
to boot may have been a factor at the lower numbers for this Wednesday past morning Men of Faith gathering. However, still a goodly number of men did show up for a time of fellowship and sharing. ANY man is invited to this diverse, ecumenical group that meets EVERY Wednesday morning at 6 "AM" in The Fellowship Classroom. Thanks, Bob Creed.
THE EVENING EDITION
of the Men of Faith met on 19 November at the Garden Gate Cafe. There was lots of food, laughter, talking and fellowship. This group will not meet again until January, but at that time they will be doing a study by Dr. David Jeremiah and prophecy in today's times. More info on this as January draws near. Thanks, Bob Creed.
MEN ONLY SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS
Are you seeking a men's only Sunday School class??? Then The Men's Bible Class is just such a place!!! This class meets in room 213-214 starting at 9:45 AM every Sunday and any/all men are WELCOME to come and be a part!!!!! Thanks, Bob Creed
"LEGITIMATE" BENEVOLENT RECIPIENTS
are starting to appear at Garner church's door, needing help for Christmas. The folks that are coming by are accompanied by either a Garner Methodist church member OR are accompanied by a reference from a Garner Methodist church member. In the cases that we are having so far, the parents/grandparents are NOT seeking assistance for themselves, but only are seeking assistance for their children/grandchildren. So if you, your family, your circle group, Sunday School class, etc., wish to help one of these deserving families this year, let us know and we will get you the "size/want/needs," list for the different children involved. With the economy like it is, we may get more children in need this year than we have folks to help them........Get involved where you can.....PLEASE.
YOUTH TO THE FARM!!!!!
Remember THIS Sunday, the Youth Group will meet at the church AT 4 PM!! to travel over to Jerry and Carol Snead's farm for a hayride and then hot dog roast on an open fire. Evening worship will also be held outside!!! This is gonna be so much fun....BRING A FRIEND OR NEIGHBOR!!!!!!!
YOUTH ARE ALREADY ON BOARD
to help a needy family this year!!!! On 07 November, at 3:30 PM, the youth group will take a "road trip," to go and purchase Christmas for a needy family this year for Christmas. Youth are reminded to bring $10 with you to buy for the family AND some extra money as you will be going to CiCi's pizza after your shopping trip.
YOUTH...ARE YOU LISTENING???
Don't you get TIRED of hearing adults say that.......any how........Due to the holiday period coming up this week for Thanksgiving there will be "NO" Youth Bible Study this coming Wednesday night NOR will there be any Youth Group on 30 November either!!!!! Can you hear me now??????
SOMETHING ABOUT CHILDREN
and Christmas........and to that end, starting THIS COMING Sunday, out in the gathering area, there will be a table set up for you to get your tickets to the Children's Christmas musical, "Christmas Starr." HEY!! There is gonna be a meal with this "dinner theater" presentation!!! There will be NO designated cost for this presentation/meal, BUT an opportunity for folks to give a freewill offering will be provided!!!!
