Purpose of United Methodist Women

The Garner United Methodist unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

It is a group of Ordinary People with an Extraordinary Mission! Membership is open to any woman who indicates her desire to belong and to participate in the global mission of the church through United Methodist Women.  Members are welcome to join as many circle groups as desired. There are currently three active circles: Unity (meets in the morning), Lorena Kelly (meets in the afternoon) and Elizabeth Rand (meets in the evening). The fourth circle is the Mary Magdalene Circle which is a service-oriented circle. All general meetings are scheduled during the months of September through May. The September and May meetings include a Salad Supper or a Covered Dish Supper and are held at 6:00 p.m. in the Christian Life Center (CLC). There is a summer break or variation in meetings scheduled for each circle. To learn more about what's happening iwth the UMW, download their newsletter here.
