The Great Book Challenge
Can you name all of the books (Old & New Testaments) of the Bible? I offer up a challenge to every child at Garner UMC. It is the "Great Book Challenge." This offer will be good throughout the entire year. You can try as many times as you like to complete this challenge, but you may complete it only once in each category. To win this challenge you must be able to recite, from memory, all the books of the Bible in order. There are three categories: The Old Testament Challenge, The New Testament Challenge, and The Great Book Challenge. If you complete the challenges, you will receive 10 Bible bucks and a certificate (or ribbon) to show that you were indeed up to the challenge. You will also win a prize that is far more valuable. You see, by studying God's word you are on your way to storing up knowledge and wisdom that will last for eternity. When you’re ready for the challenge just let Carlene know.
Children's Weekly Trivia Question
Every week we are going to give the children a trivia question that will be related to their next Sunday School lesson. They will be given a scripture reference and a set of questions. Parents may help their child look up the scripture and find the answer. The answers are to be written and placed in the manila envelope on the Children's Ministry Board each Sunday morning. Once your answers are received you will receive 2 Bible Bucks. If you miss the question in Friday's church chat, you can get it from the Children's Ministry Board or the website.

1K for 1Kid Campaign
The Methodist Home for Children has cared for children and families for more than 100 years. It provides community-based youth homes, foster care, adoption services, substance-abuse services, family based counseling, and childcare throughout North Carolina. It takes a thousand dollars to complete the care for one child for one year, so in an effort to raise these funds the Methodist Home for Children has developed the “1K for 1 Kid” campaign
In response to this campaign we are offering a mission challenge to all the boys and girls. We challenge the boys to raise $500 and the girls to also raise $500 to help support a child at the Methodist Home for Children. The first group to raise $500 will receive an ice cream party.
Here are some of the ways you and your child can help us raise money to help support a child at the Methodist Home for Children:
*Bring Sunday school offering. The children’s Sunday school collection for the next
three months will be collected for this cause.
*Attend Sunday school. The children will visit the adult Sunday school classes once a
month for next four months for a “loose change” collection to help them reach their
goal.
*Join Us for Vacation Bible School on June 20-22. The VBS mission offering will go
towards our support of a child at the Methodist Home.
* Make a monetary donation. If you would like to help the children reach their goal of
$1000, please make a check payable to Garner UMC marked for Methodist Home for
Children.
To see how much money the boys and girls have raised please visit the Missions Board by the Library. We have charts to track our progress towards reaching our goal.

Bible Bucks is an incentive program that encourages the children to earn "Bucks" and then spend them in the Bible Bucks Market on the first Sunday of each month. Bucks are earned and received by the students each Sunday.

Children’s Sunday School Curriculum
(Belief in God) is the Sunday school curriculum being offered at our 9:45 Children’s Sunday school. This interactive program has colorful characters, cool music and travel segments designed to use the three ways children learn — hearing, seeing and then living what they learn. Your children will come to know the love of God through Jesus. So help them live out their belief in God in their everyday lives by bringing them each Sunday to Dream B.I.G. and bring it to life with Live B.I.G., a DVD-based Sunday school resource designed to excite and enrich your children's spiritual lives by bringing their everyday real world experience into Sunday school.
