United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF)  provides a vital and dynamic way for students, in grades 6 - 12, to come to know Christ and  grow in their Christian discipleship.

We are committed to being the hands and feet of Christ, drawing youth into fellowship and developing in them a closer personal relationship with Jesus Christ through worship, service, study, prayer and outreach.
 
There are many exciting events that youth can participate in.  Whether at a retreat, a mission trip, a bible study or a weekly youth meetings, our focus is Christ Centered and relationship based.

We also make all our youth ministries fun and inviting, so youth will not only want to come, but will want to bring their friends as well. Garner United Methodist Church offers youth a wide range of classes and opportunities for growth and socialization. Whether the activity is a Bible study, a retreat at a camp, a mission work project, or a Sunday evening UMYF night, the youth are constantly challenged to grow within the body of Christ. Activities are designed to provide Christian fellowship as well as spiritual formation. We have many special programs, events and trips for youth throughout the year planned by trained adult leaders and youth representatives.
 
Youth meet most Sunday evenings September - May for a fellowship dinner at 5:30pm together and then break into Jr. & Sr. High groups from 6:00-7:15pm. 
 
Youth Praise Band, Spoken 4, practices on Sunday evenings from 7:30-9:00pm.
 
Youth Bible Study meets each Wednesday night at 6 pm for pizza followed by a study of the scripture and lively discussions on how God's Word speaks to our lives daily.
 
Youth Creative Arts meets monthly on Sunday afternoons at 4 PM.  During the year Youth Creative Arts works on worship skits, an annual Christmas program and produces a full length play for the community.
 
Youth Basketball begins with practice in September for Jr. High and Sr. High.  Games begin Saturday Dec. 5th with games each Saturday through Feb. 20.  Open volleyball night will also begin this fall.
 
 
Upcoming Events
Discovery meeting for adults and sr. high youth on Thursday night,  February 4th in Holy Java Cafe @ 6:30 PM.  Please email Patricia if you plan to attend this meeting.
 
Youth will meet on Saturday, Feb 6th at 6:30 PM to go to Hollands UMC for a youth program by Crosswave which will include music, drama and testiomonies followed by refreshments.  Parent volunteers are need to help with driving.  Please contact Patricia if you plan to attend.  We will return about 9:15 to the church.

All youth activities are subject to schedule changes with other events being added constantly so be sure to check your email, and church chat for up to the minute information.
