EXTRA TIME FOR CHILDREN

"Extra Time for Children" (ETC)  is designed to provide educational support for children ages Kindergarten through fifth grade. This program takes place the second Saturday of each month October - May from 9:30 until 11:30 am in the Holy Java Café.  The program is ‘staffed’ by adult and youth volunteers.  A variety of educational games and activities, designed for each age group, are used to reinforce and enrich the child’s education.  A snack and devotion are also part of this program.  Volunteers can help children with any special projects or homework assignments; all you have to do is indicate the need on the registration form.  All proceeds from this program will go to the GIFTS campaign.  The suggested donation per session is $5 per child.

Pre-registration’ occurs the week before each session and will be required of all participants.  To register, fill out a registration form and place it in the ETC box located in a wall pocket outside the copier room door.  This wall pocket is labeled and contains blank registration forms and an envelope for completed forms.  Registration is required in order to plan for and serve each child effectively.  If you plan to register by email, please include the child’s name, grade, areas needing help (if there are specifics), allergies/special needs, and a contact number where a parent can be reached during the session, and send it to mhines@wcpss.net .

If you would like to serve as a volunteer, provide a monetary contribution for supplies, or contribute a snack for our sessions, please contact Missi Hines.
