GIFTS

This Christmas season our missions focus is centered around our emphasis on Gifts. Just as God has given us the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ, we have an opportunity to incarnate Christ's love by sharing God's gift of love with other people. Through programs like Operation Christmas Child, Alternative Gift Giving, and our Giving Tree you will have the opportunity to help others this Christmas.

This year, we invite you to "purchase" symbolic gifts, which will fund mission work in our community and around the world. We will give you a card or mail one for you to give your loved one in recognition of your gift. The price of what you would have spent on more stuff will enable amazing things to happen for others.

Projects this year include:

• Methodist Home for Children - Methodist Home for Children (MHC) provides care for North Carolina’s youth and families. Your gift to MHC will go to support programs and services that ensure that children grow up in safe, loving homes, educate parents and caregivers about how best to nurture children and young adults, help young people navigate adolescence, and work to eradicate the social and family problems that lead to abuse, neglect, family disruption, and child abandonment.

• Garner Area Ministries - Garner Area Ministries (GAM) provides assistance to Garner residents. Your gift to GAM will allow GAM to assist Garner residents with food, clothing, rent, utilities, and prescription medications.

• HOPE Ministries - HOPE provides food, showers, and personal care items to homeless individuals. Your gift to HOPE supports the program’s efforts to provide food, clothing, and personal care items.

• Hand-in-Hand Ministry - Hand in Hand provides support to staff and students at Creech Road Elementary School. Your gift to Hand in Hand supports the programs efforts to provide recognition and appreciation events for school staff and support for the needs of CRES children (clothing, shoes, supplies, etc.)

• Stop Hunger Now - Stop Hunger Now provides nutritional meals to hungry children and families around the world. Your gift to Stop Hunger Now supports the annual Meal Packaging Event held at Garner United Methodist Church
