Mission News

The Missions Team at GUMC plans and participates in many mission projects throughout the year. The projects involve the children, youth, and the church as a whole and support local causes as well as global missions. Local mission outreach includes Garner Area Ministries, Hope Elementary School, Walnut Terrace Child Development Center, Raleigh Rescue Mission, Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network, The Ronald McDonald House, Wake County Resources for Seniors, Habitat for Humanity of Wake County, Garner Lions Club, as well as visiting our members that are homebound or in rest homes. Our global mission projects include Operation Christmas Child, UNICEF, Heifer International, and UMCOR Disaster Response. The Missions Team welcomes anyone with a desire to serve Him by serving the least of these.

Meals on Wheels- Methodist men participate in the Wake County Meals-on-Wheels program for various members of the Garner community.

Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network - GUMC hosts homeless families 3 times a year. The duration of the stay is one week at a time. Meals are prepared and activities are sponsored during the week.
