Below is a current listing of other opportunities to serve at Garner United Methodist Church. The items that are bold represent an immediate need that we have.

Library Servant - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description:  need persons willing to spend a few hours each week shelving books and sorting through donations.

Card sender - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description: Send greeting cards to those identified by staff (sick, bereaved, etc.)

Transportation Servant -Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description: Transportation of members to church events and/or personal appointments

---

Outbound Communion Servants -Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description: Deliver communion to homebound or those in assisted living

---

CD Ministry Servant - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description: Deliver worship CDs to homebound

---

Prayer Servant - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description: Participate in Intercessory Prayer Group

---

Work team Servant - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description: Participate on work teams

---

Mission Trip Servant - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description: Participate on mission trips

---

Emergency Assistance servant - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description: Assist members with emergency yard work (following storms and/or snow)

Collection Counter servant - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description: Assist in counting collection following Sunday services

---

Bus Driver - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description:  Be available to drive the church buses for group excursions.  Must have CDL to drive the larger bus and must be willing to be trained on both buses.

Worship leader - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description:  To assist the pastors with reading scriptures, litanies, and serving communion.  Some training required.

Contacting our Visitors - Make a Commitment to Serve

Description:  We need friendly voices and willing hearts to contact our first-time visitors in a timely basis and thank them for attending worship and other events with us.

Offering counters - Make a Commitment to Serve

Description:  Works as a team to count and deposit Sunday’s offerings in a timely manner.  Must submit to training and to background check.  Will always work as a part of a team.  Confidentiality is extremely important.
