”Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us
show the truth by our actions.” 1 John 3:18
Have you ever come across a homeless individual and felt totally uncomfortable? You see them and you know they are in need, but you are not sure what to do. You know that handing them money is not the best thing. But, you also see that they clearly have some needs. They are hungry. They are thirsty. They are asking for help.
You can help by giving them a “Mary’s Gift” bag, which is a zip lock bag of nonperishable, easy open items for you to put in your car and instead of giving out cash, hand to persons in need.
We invite you to please take one of Mary’s Gifts, place it in your car, and share it with someone in need. Once you have given out that bag, please take another for the next time you pass someone who may be hungry. The completed Mary’s Gift bags will be in a cardboard box beside the Mission Collection area by the elevators.
Please know that this is an ongoing mission and items will continuously be needed and collected for the bags. Please place your items in the mission bin marked Mary’s Gifts by the elevators.
The items needed for the bags are as follows:
- Small jars of peanut butter
- Bottled water
- Granola bars
- Packaged nabs
- Gallon zip lock baggies
- Individual Kleenex
- Small canned meats(pop tops)
- Plastic spoons
